Acts 3:22-26 (NIV)
"Moses said, 'The Lord your God will raise up for you a prophet like me from among your own people; you must listen to everything he tells you. Anyone who does not listen to him will be completely cut off from their people.'
Indeed, beginning with Samuel, all the prophets who have spoken have foretold these days. And you are heirs of the prophets and of the covenant God made with your fathers. He said to Abraham, 'Through your offspring all peoples on earth will be blessed.'
When God raised up his servant, he sent him first to you to bless you by turning each of you from your wicked ways." |
Reflect
Christmas is God's declaration that He is for us, not against us. From the very beginning, God promised to send a prophet like Moses-one who would speak God's words and lead His people into blessing. That promise was fulfilled in Jesus, the one who came not just to teach, but to rescue and restore.
God's heart has always been to bless. He told Abraham, "Through your offspring all peoples on earth will be blessed." That blessing isn't just a vague wish for happiness-it's the real, transforming work of God in our lives. Jesus came to turn us from empty ways and bring us into the fullness of God's love and purpose.
Notice how Peter says in Acts 3 that God sent Jesus "first to you to bless you." The blessing started with Israel, but it was always meant to overflow to every nation, every family, every heart-including yours. God's promise is as fresh today as it was when He first spoke it. With God, a thousand years is like a couple of days. His desire to bless you is just as real right now as it was on that first Christmas.
So, as you move through this Advent season, remember: God is moving toward you with blessing. He wants to fill your life with His goodness, to turn you from what holds you back, and to make you a channel of blessing to others.
