Reflect
It's easy to treat Christmas like a warm, sentimental story-something from history that we remember but don't really expect to change us. But the arrival of Jesus-the eternal Son of God becoming human-is so much more than just a historical fact. It's God's personal, powerful message of hope to you and me, right now.
The truth is, plenty of people say they believe Jesus came, but still live weighed down by the same anxieties and frustrations as everyone else. They fear losing the small good things they have, and they get stuck in the bad things they can't seem to change. If we're honest, we've all been there.
But Christmas proclaims something radical: Jesus came to destroy the works of the devil. That means every fear that your joy is slipping away, every frustration that your struggles will never change-Jesus came to break the grip of all of that.
No matter who you are or what your story is-parent, spouse, single, young, old, strong or struggling-Jesus' coming is God's gift to you. Because of Him, what is good and precious in your life can never be lost, and what is broken or painful can truly be changed.
This is what Christmas came to destroy: the lie that evil wins and that good things can't last. Jesus, born in the manger, lived, died, rose, and is coming again to set you free-today.
